NCDOT has begun widening work on U.S. 321 in Caldwell County. On Tuesdays and Thursdays,
NCDOT recommends for Blowing Rock visitors to use the following detour route:
• Take N.C. 18 to U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro.
• Follow U.S. 421 north to U.S. 321 in Boone.
• U.S. 321 leads to Blowing Rock.
